Forum Topics : Wish List / How to enter all values from the CSV file
Hello all,
I noticed like me, there were others who had trouble uploading the CSV file into MySQL. Some error would arise and i would be starting over and over again. I read somewhere in a tute that there were 40,000 entries in the file, so i was naturally glad when the import process gave an error and showed 39,967 rows.. But i opened the csv file in dreamweaver to find out the latest file had 74,326 entries .. :-(
So i splitted the file into smaller chunks. I opened the file in notepad, (dreamweaver was giving problems when cutiing and pasting from such a large file) and split the file by 10000 entries. so i got 8 files.
And now my dbase shows 74,326 rows. :-)
I'm hoping that, from now on the original CSV file could be made available in such a format too, i.e divided in to chunks of say 10,000 entries. It would also help to mention somewhere in the website how many entries are there in the CSV file.
Regards
Bassa
